Margaret Keymetian Ng, Founder, President, and CEO Change management is a critical aspect of a business that defines the success of any new initiative. While many organizations implement new initiatives that redefine the processes and the way employees operate, they struggle to ensure that employees are receptive to those changes. According to a recent Gartner survey, nearly 75 percent of all organizations expect to increase the number of change initiatives they intend to undertake in the next three years. The report also states that half of the change initiatives don’t deliver the intended results, and only 34 percent are a success.
Hence, it’s vital for businesses to consider the cultural and behavioral impact a new implementation or a project may have on the team or the business. One company that makes that possible with decades of change management experience is M3E Change Associates. M3E was founded by Margaret Keymetian Ng, a change management leader and the company’s CEO and President, who brings extensive, hands-on experience to orchestrating major initiatives, restructuring complex departments, and reorganizing large teams. Under Margaret’s leadership, M3E has worked with a large client base spanning a multitude of industries, including pharmaceutical and biotechnology education, financial services, and non-profit government agencies.
M3E has carried out many successful implementations where it has allowed client organizations to implement changes in processes, culture, training, and other areas. In each of its projects, the team at M3E focuses on identifying the specific needs of its clients. “We are very good at diagnosing the cause. Instead of simply offering the solution a client approaches us for, we try to understand the underlying problem and address that with our change management solutions,” clarifies Margaret. This approach has helped Margaret and her team earn the trust of a large client base and expand significantly well by word of mouth.
The company’s association with an insurance company further solidifies its capabilities as a leading change management consultant. At the time, the insurance company was implementing a new ERP and CRM system without analyzing its potential cultural and behavioral impacts, all the while dealing with poor reception to change amongst the teams. M3E helped the client comprehend the changes they were about to make and created a change strategy and methodology, a communications and training plan, and an organizational design document to ensure the desired outcomes after implementing the new system.

M3E has also assisted with a coaching and subsequent intervention at a top 100 financial services company. After their preliminary investigation, M3E found that two similarly sized, very large financial services companies had merged within the client organization. And while a lot of attention had been paid to process and IT systems changes, very little attention had been paid to the human systems change. Organizationally then, the team was set up to be in conflict. M3E went in and recontracted to interview all of the senior vice presidents in the global client care group. There were misunderstandings because there’s no body language to interpret, with communication taking place over tone and email alone. M3E pulled the team together in a group and designed a two day program to help them address issues from the interviews, which culminated with them writing and signing a behavior contract. Six months later, M3E interviewed them again and they were holding each other to the behavior contract. They even had some turnover in the team and had made the new members sign the behavior contract as well. So the intervention was very successful and really had a big impact on the functioning of the global client care group.
There are many such projects where Margaret and her team have successfully married psychology, business, and performance and help clients implement and adapt to changes effectively. In the future, M3E wants to continue innovating to help businesses bring about change and embrace cultural shifts that are necessary to evolve and grow consistently.
