WithYouWithMe Partners with GED Testing Service on Innovative Learning Insights to Boost Chances of Passing the GED

HR Tech Outlook | Friday, June 23, 2023

WASHINGTON and MINNEAPOLIS - More than 700,000 students who take the GED® test each year will soon have access to powerful insights that will help them be successful, thanks to a new initiative aimed at improving student learning outcomes.

GED Testing Service®, jointly owned by Pearson and the American Council on Education, which operates the international GED program, has partnered withWithYouWithMe, a social impact tech company, to provide students with free access to its world-leading learning preference assessment.

The objective of this partnership is to assist learners by offering them valuable insights into their individual learning style and recommending carefully selected learning materials that will aid them in their exam preparation.

Tom Larter, the CEO of WYWM, emphasized the significance of comprehending one's learning preferences, as it grants individuals a competitive advantage not only for the GED test but also for long-term educational and employment prospects.

"All individuals should have the opportunity to realize their potential and we're proud to provide our learning preference assessment and other resources to GED learners, to help them gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed," said Mr. Larter.

Every student possesses a distinct method of processing, assimilating, and retaining information. Certain individuals excel when presented with visual aids, such as diagrams, while others may prefer auditory stimuli, such as lectures. Some individuals find hands-on experiences to be the most effective way of learning.

By recognizing and understanding their preferred learning style, individuals can customize their study habits and strategies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

By facilitating a higher number of students in achieving their GED diploma, we can contribute to elevating the workforce with increased diversity and equality. This, in turn, opens up exciting new career opportunities that individuals may have never considered possible.

Vicki Greene, President of GED Testing Service and SVP Workforce Skills, said: "the learning preference insights will equip learners with important information to not only support their GED preparation, but also broader life and career choices. We're confident that providing them with insight into their learning style will set them up for success."

Every year, a significant number of Americans embark on their GED journey, whether it is to pursue higher education, prepare for a new job, or simply achieve this significant milestone. It is of utmost importance to offer these learners a top-notch service and a supportive learning environment to foster their growth and success.

In collaboration with WithYouWithMe, GED Testing Service is introducing the GED Tech Apprenticeshipä program, aimed at assisting 300 GED students from diverse backgrounds in entering new careers in the technology sector. Through the GED Tech Apprenticeship program, students will have the opportunity to undergo WithYouWithMe's comprehensive testing program, which identifies individuals with a high potential for excelling in tech careers. These students will then receive free accredited training to enhance their skills and prepare them for in-demand tech roles, with our support in finding positions at leading companies across the United States.

The development of the GED learning preference assessment is currently underway, and it is expected to be launched by July 2023. For further details regarding the partnership between WithYouWithMe and GED Testing Service, please visit withyouwithme.com and GED.com.
