The post-pandemic period has brought about changes in all sectors. HR management is no exception to this outbreak, as it led to the dawn of HR tech startups for an effective and efficient working environment.
FREMONT, CA: The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the rundown of HR functions in organisations. Enhancing technology in HR processes has gained significance as companies' views on HR functioning have evolved. The emergence of job search platforms and cloud-based HR management systems was a breakthrough during the pre-pandemic period, with the pandemic and post-pandemic periods laying the carpet to welcome the evolved HR functions. This led to the disruption of the traditional HR system.
As companies have begun to realise that HR functions must be distinctive, working conditions are being altered accordingly in present times. With the Covid-19 pandemic’s recovery, Omicron’s threat follows all over the world due to which remote working culture has once again become predominant. This may result in corporate sectors adapting to remote work culture such that the culture of working from the office may likely get dispersed. On the other hand, approving a hybrid work culture throughout may add more responsibilities to the HR manager. Thus, introducing cloud-based employee portals has become significant in employee management. Moreover, with performance management systems, employees’ performances are monitored fairly, which leaves no room for inequitably.
Importance of Employees’ Wellbeing
The traditional HR patterns of managing several employees with a single HR manager have begun to dissipate. This gave rise to employees’ concern over their mental health and overall well-being as they hold the upper hand in deciding on better and enhanced job ideologies. HR tech startups’ approach is a ray of sunshine as it helps in improving employee management and providing outsourced employee benefits. By providing such benefits, employee retention can likely be assured. They are also involved in other aspects of HR value chains that include hiring, succession planning, personalised training, and employee upskilling.
The fact that HR tech startups aim at providing tools for HR managers to effectively manage a large dispersed workforce should be taken into consideration as it helps in avoiding vague assumptions of HR tech startups replacing HR professionals. Investors have also come up with good terms of agreement regarding the same. Indian HR tech startups are raising significant funds, which accounts for nearly 300 million USD since 2021. On a more positive note, with improved technologies, HR tech startups will eventually become unicorns of the sector.
Upholding employees as their priority, HR tech startups facilitate effective employee and workplace management, which in turn enables productive management efficiency in businesses.
