A behavioral assessment assesses an individual's behavioral capabilities in a simulated work environment. Pre-employment tests of this nature require participants to demonstrate behavioral competencies in at least one activity related to their job role and resemble actual organizational situations.
Fremont, CA: Pre-employment tests have revolutionized the way hiring is conducted globally. Traditionally, human resource managers have filled vacancies through telephonic and face-to-face interviews. Eventually, this approach proved to be flawed, with more bad hires and higher attrition rates. In addition, the incompetence of bad hires costs an organization in multiple ways.
One of the biggest barriers to making a quality hire is the need for immediate filling of a position. Selecting the wrong individual to replace an employee is risky and may cost the business dearly.
Listed below are major pre-employment screening tests that will help organizations filter out potential candidates.
Personality Test
A growing number of office workers led to the rise of personality testing in the twentieth century. Human resources began to use it to maximize employee potential. Pre-employment personality tests are among the most effective methods of evaluating human personalities for good hiring decisions. They identify working patterns and relevant characteristics and reflect how people respond to different situations. These types of pre-employment testing help build self-awareness and facilitate team building.
Behavioral Assessment
A behavioral assessment assesses an individual's behavioral capabilities in a simulated work environment. Pre-employment tests of this nature require participants to demonstrate behavioral competencies in at least one activity related to their job role and resemble actual organizational situations. Candidates are provided with a series of Work-related scenarios and possible solutions. They must either select the best option or rank the possible actions based on their efficiency.
Cognitive Ability Test
A pre-employment aptitude test measures abilities such as critical thinking, verbal reasoning, numerical ability, problem-solving, decision-making, etc. They are one of the most important types of pre-employment testing, as they measure the person's intelligence quotient (IQ). Test results predict on-the-job performance and assess current and potential employees at all levels. IQs are also tested for roles across multiple job functions. This type of pre-employment screening test helps HR make better hiring decisions.
Coding Tests
A pre-employment test like this evaluates the individual's coding skills. Candidates are tested on various languages and technologies such as AngularJS, Bootstrap, PL/SQL, Unix shell, Spring Framework, etc. Coding tests are preferred by recruiters to qualify candidates.
