With over one million children's identities stolen each year, identity and child safety professionals believe that securing the information of all family members is essential.
Fremont, CA: With families continuing to be vulnerable to the exponential volume and velocity of identity crimes and cyberthreats, Sontiq, the pioneer in Intelligent Identity Security (IIS), has launched a unique set of Digital Safety and Security features. These new capabilities will be available in Sontiq's Identity Theft Protection plans for families, including those sold under the IdentityForce brand.
With over one million children's identities stolen each year, identity and child safety professionals believe that securing the information of all family members is essential.
"We are living in a digital environment where cyber and identity threats are becoming increasingly common and fighting against these crimes is really a family affair," explained Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) President & CEO Eva Velasquez. "From social media vulnerabilities to social engineering and ransomware attacks; the trillions of dollars in losses are real, and the impact – both financially and emotionally – cannot be denied. The importance of addressing this very real threat and providing families with peace of mind to help resolve such issues when they arise cannot be overstated."
Starting in Q4 21, Sontiq's family protection plans will contain the following Digital Safety and Security features:
Resolution and Reimbursement for Social Engineering
Social engineering is using human behavior and emotions to mislead someone into disclosing sensitive information. Passwords and bank details may be included in this sensitive information, allowing criminals to access accounts and move cash. According to industry studies, employees who fall victim to social engineering assaults account for 33percent of all data breaches. Individuals are increasingly vulnerable to such attacks as the number of remote work settings grows because any personal information exchanged on corporate equipment is at risk.
Reimbursement for Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying happens when one person uses a computer, phone, or portable device to harass, intimidate, or threaten another person. According to the Research, more than 60percent of kids who have experienced cyberbullying say it has had a substantial impact on their ability to learn and feel secure at school.
