Aliro, which transforms hiring through human connection, commissioned Aptitude Research to study how recruitment teams find qualified candidates. In response to the tight labor market, 72 percent of companies are rethinking their sourcing strategies in 2022, and 84 percent of companies believe employee referrals are the most cost-effective sourcing technique.

Over 300 senior talent acquisition professionals were interviewed by Aptitude Research in 2022 for the report, Solving the Sourcing Challenge: Leaning into Referrals to Drive Better Hiring Outcomes. The research acknowledges that employee referrals are one of the top hiring sources, but it also acknowledges that most companies struggle to optimize their programs. Ninety-three percent of companies continue to invest in traditional sourcing channels such as job boards and advertisements, but few measures ROI or recognize measurable outcomes.
