Every employer desires to hire top talent, but this can only be accomplished if all candidates are given equal consideration. Employers have a better chance of having access to a bigger talent pool when diversity and inclusion are present. As a result, they will be able to hire workers with the necessary skills, experience, and knowledge to develop high-performing teams. Employee performance in diverse businesses is 12 percent greater than in companies that do not make an attempt to be inclusive.
Sense of Belonging
With more than 76 percent of job searchers stating that a diverse and inclusive workforce is important when evaluating organizations and job offers, employers should take note. Creating a culture that values diversity and inclusion fosters a sense of belonging among all employees. According to the Harvard Business Review, having a strong sense of belonging can boost job performance by 56 percent or more, cut turnover by 50 percent, and dramatically reduce sick days.
Employee Trust and Engagement
Employee trust and engagement are increased in environments that foster D&I practices. This trust fosters a sense of psychological security, which in turn fosters respect. Teams and their leaders are unlikely to operate well together without one of these, much less boost team productivity and performance, unless they have both. According to research, firms that trust their employees have a 76 percent higher average employee engagement rate. As more companies adopt a remote or hybrid team model, this has become increasingly critical. Employees feel safe in the workplace, which minimizes attrition and promotes engagement.
