JULY 2025HR TECH OUTLOOK19very excited to see what 2023 holds and which other states will follow New York and California.Considering these changes that have taken place, how are companies and states looking to integrate cutting-edge technologies into their workflows? What are the obstacles that stand in their way?Pay transparency and equity drive an individual to look for a job. Most of us work in exchange for money. However, due to the pandemic the focus has shifted from transactional to intrinsic factors, such as what makes people happy and motivated. Pay transparency plays a role in this shift by increasing awareness of the work environment, which can motivate people towards jobs that align with their intrinsic values. Furthermore, how can you remain resilient and engaged once you have determined where you fall on the scale? It is not one-size-fits-all. We need you to stay put, engaged, and excited to show up and feel valued. At rag & bone, we spearhead concepts and provide out-of-the-box solutions for engagement, such as hiking events, game nights, and doing it differently with our co-workers. What is your strategy for leading your team forward and allowing them to work cohesively on any project? Every person has a voice, and every voice is extremely important. Similarly, I like to learn from anyone who either works for me or works next to me. I am better each day by having these conversations, having a thought partner, talking through a challenge or enquiring whether this is the right response. What do you think? What do I think? It helps shape the voice of not only the brand but the department. We are a cohesive unit moving forward together. I don't believe that any level makes a difference when it comes to a voice; every voice matters. Where do you envision the industry moving forward in the coming years, and what are some of the future developments that might take place?I believe HR professionals will start seeking and valuing data analytics; taking data, arranging it visually, and telling a story. However, when you tell a story, I can sit here and explain what is happening emotionally for an employee.I also look at the data analytics and identify why they may feel underappreciated under market value. Is it valid or not? If it is, how do you walk through that conversation? What is the history of the business? Those are information that isn't always brought to light because the systems aren't providing them.We have to be different from what we were before because that's what employees expect, and that's what needs to be delivered. Megan, is there a piece of advice that you would like to share with your fellow peers or individuals looking to venture into the same path as you? Don't underestimate the power of analytics and data. There is so much more to a number than I believe. Quite often, its thoughts and feelings can be interpreted differently based on the person listening, the moment, and the environment you are in. Numbers and data do not change; they are black and white. Therefore, having that helps ground thoughts, feelings, and emotions, and you can create a story by not underestimating the numbers.
