JANUARY 2025HR TECH OUTLOOK EUROPE8In MyOpinionMark's Professional Background and Responsibilities With 6 years of experience in Talent Practices, Processes and HR Transformations, I've worked with IHG, adidas and Accenture, and also gained start-up experience. As Director of Talent Practices at Beyond Gravity, I focus on implementing best practice HR processes globally, designing leadership development programs, and promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. My role involves shaping a diverse and inclusive culture and moving our HR practices forward towards best practices.Challenges of Talent Acquisition and Retention In my opinion, one of the most pressing challenges is the involvement of AI and robotics in our workforce and how it will change the ways of working we know today. Combined with new generations in our workforce, this AI revolution threatens not only ways of working but how we attribute money to time spent at work and distribute wealth through salaries. For talent acquisition, one of the most valuable future skills will be using AI effectively and working efficiently with it. This will shift the classic 8-hour workday, as more efficiency means less time needed for the same work. We need to ensure AI benefits everyone through new taxation systems and policies.Regarding talent acquisition, we are moving towards skill-based work, requiring an understanding of organizational and industry skills to make informed decisions about acquiring and developing talent. As organizations and society, we must create upskilling programs to prevent job displacement by AI and robotics.Effects of Economic and Technological Fluctuations on StrategiesIt is true that economic and technological fluctuations can significantly impact HR strategies. For instance, rapid advancements in technology require continuous adaptation and upskilling of the workforce, as mentioned above. Economic downturns may necessitate cost-cutting measures, including hiring freezes or layoffs, which can affect employee morale and retention. At Beyond Gravity, we address these challenges by staying agile and EMBRACING AI AND SUSTAINABILITY FOR THE FUTURE OF TALENT MANAGEMENTVera Mark, Director of Talent Practices, Beyond GravityByVera Mark
